Where do I begin the Call of Duty: Mobile game? Well, first off it’s about time they came out with it a decent COD for mobile users. I know that the first COD mobile game released a couple years back, but that doesn’t count because it was hot trash. I read an article from Sensor Towers where, it states, in the first week of releasing the mobile game there was an estimated 100 million downloads worldwide. For me, the fact that it did gang busters out of the gate is a no-brainer because A. It’s Call of Duty and B. It’s free…for the most part.
I am personally a huge of the Call of Duty brand so when I found out I was extremely excited and curious to see just how good it would be. In my personal opinion I think they did a phenomenal job with the game. Prior to the release of Call of Duty Mobile I was playing a lot of PUGB Mobile and thought that was a pretty good game with the exception of a few annoying bugs and crashes. But I believe COD Mobile blows that out of the water. I’m sure some people might object and if your one of those reading this article please feel free to let me know your thoughts.
First and foremost I love the fact that they brought back a lot of the favorite maps that us COD fans loved for example Firing Range, Nuke Town, Stand Off just to name a few, those were some one my favorite maps in team Death match. Another thing is that the maps are almost identical to the actual game that is a really cool. I’m really big on Team Death Match personally I enjoy that more, but they do have search and destroy and a few other game modes to choose from. Another interesting thing Activision/Tencent (creators of the Mobile game) have included is that they even have special game modes for a limited time like snipers only and another one of my favorites Gun Game. Which is a lot harder on Mobile but a whole lot of fun.
Something that has become very popular last couple years is a Battle Royal type game mode and only the best player or team can survive. Like games such as Apex legends, PUGB mobile, COD has its very own version on console called Blackout. So I was a little skeptical at first when I heard it would be on mobile because I already had some bad experiences with PUGB mobile so I didn’t want to get my hopes up but it runs a lot smoother. So far I haven’t had any crashes during a match or had anyone disappear and appear somewhere else while you have them in your sights. A cool feature they have which is kind of similar to Apex legends is you get to choose a sort of special ability. Not like magic powers. For example you can throw a censor dart to see who’s around you for a period of time or a grappling hook for increased mobility. Another power which I see a lot of players using is a little monkey juke box thing you throw and you have zombies come out of the ground and chase other players until either you kill them or eventually they go back underground. That about had me drop my phone the first time I saw that. I wasn’t scared, just surprised…There are definitely some cool things that set it apart from other games.
There are a few cons to the game, namely they all fall under the micro-transactions. The game allows you to earn certain coins so you can purchase weapon skins and other unlocks. This isn’t a pay to win model but the best weapon skins and player costumes are locked behind a paywall. A lot of the crates that I get will give free credits that are only good for buying from a selection of about 8 things. In order to get the special COD Points you have to spend your hard earned money. I’m a huge fan of free, for those of you who know me, I prefer the free route always. Also, the age old problem of hackers, bullies, racists, and straight up bad players are at an all time high. I hope that there is a system in place to remove or ban these players but with the player count in the hundreds of millions I can only hope.
Other than that I love the game. I hope you all enjoyed this article and please give any feedback and let us know your thoughts.
